Raven Mask, articulated, Canadian Indigenous Art by Randy Stiglitz / Janice Morin

Raven Mask, articulated, Canadian Indigenous Art by Randy Stiglitz / Janice Morin

Another absolutely fabulous piece of Indigenous Art just arrived in our Gallery.

Raven Mask, articulated (Beak opens and closes when string is pulled), decorated with cedar bark, by Coast Salish First Nations artist Randy Stiglitz who works together with his partner Janice Morin (Cree Nation)

The Raven is articulated and makes a really nice clapping sound.

The Raven is decorated with a large cedar bark skirt and adorned with cedar rope. The painting is as usual just close to perfection, kept in traditional colors black and red - very powerful. The carving and the expression of the trickster Raven is marvelous. This is excellent quality. The mask is prepared for wall hanging. Signed by both on the inside, dated 2026. Randy carved, Janice painted. Randy's biography is below, please also check out Janice's biography, it's provided under the "artist" tab. What a fabulous team!!!

The Raven is made and prepared for wall hanging - but we also do have a stand available on request, please contact us if you would like a stand.

Measurements including cedar: 17" long, 21" high, 8" wide; without the bark it's 14" long, 5 1/2" high, 6 1/2" wide

Meaning: The Raven is known to be the transformer, trickster and creator. In the Kwakwaka'wakw culture the Raven is known as the messenger of the sky and famous for being a somewhat mischievous glutton. He's always out to please himself and to have a good time. He's very adventurous.
